Summary: Facilitate the proper orientation and dispatch of personnel and cargo for transport to work locations in the Gulf of Mexico. Ensure that flights are controlled according to government and company regulations to expedite and ensure safety of flight.  The schedule is 5/2 at our Airbase in Galliano, LA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ensure all passengers are properly briefed regarding “Helicopter Safety” prior to boarding an RLC aircraft.
  • Meet incoming aircraft for the purpose of passenger escort and to assist in the loading and unloading of passengers and cargo.
  • Responsible for faxing an accurate daily aircraft status/assignment sheet to Operations PRIOR to sunrise.
  • Receive cargo and ensure that any hazardous material has the proper documentation and that the PIC is notified as to what the material is and where it has been placed on the aircraft.  Ensure all cargo loaded on aircraft is properly labeled with destination and weight.
  • Answer phones and monitor radios to maintain good communications between customers, Operations in Broussard and the aircraft assigned to that base.

  • The Dispatcher does not have operational control at any time during any circumstances.

Education and/or Experience: High School graduate or equivalent; additional proven experience as an Administrative Assistant, Office Assistant or other relevant position a plus.

Mathematical Skill: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
